Divine Feminine yoga workshop Sunday 28th April, Beechwood Hall, Chailey, East Sussex 14.15-17.30 In collaboration with Sussex Ladies Facebook group. This workshop will explore the divine feminine. The divine feminine is a principle that has been around for more than 3 millennia. In South Asia the principle is recognised through the great goddess (mahādevī) as the underlying creative force or power (śakti) within everything. By tapping into this energy we are able to tune into our own inherent nature of creativity and power. We will explore through the theme of tantric goddess iconography, her archetypal characteristics to tune into aspects of our own consciousness, creativity and power. This is a traditional aspect of yoga that is often missed in modern postural yoga classes so we will use these teachings to inform a greater integration in our own yoga practice.
The workshop will take the form of a regular yoga āsana (posture) class with the philosophy of the goddess applied to empower our practice. We will also practice some prāṇāyāma (breathing techniques) (1.5 hours) and then break for tea and cake (30mins) and possibly a guided walking meditation if weather allows. Following our break you will then be guided through a goddess-based meditation, some mantra (chanting) and yoganidrā (reclined guided yogic sleep relaxation practice) (1 hour 15 mins). All timings are approximate as there will be an element of allowing the workshop to unfold naturally! Although the goddess is not strictly limited to female-only practitioners, this particular workshop is for people identifying as women only. Please get in touch to book.
“The divine feminine - an introduction to the tantric daśa mahāvidyā 10 goddesses through practice and reflection” 8th June 2024, Herstmonceaux Village Hall 10am-3.45pm This workshop is organised through the British Wheel of Yoga This workshop will be an exploration of the divine feminine. It is open to all genders! The divine feminine will be explored through the framework of the 10 tantric wisdom goddesses, the daśa mahāvidyās. Tantra represents practical philosophical systems that aid the practitioner towards liberation (this is not the Western neo-tantra system of sexuality!). The 10 goddesses represent all aspects of consciousness or reality through iconography, mythology and archetypal characteristics. Meditation, mantra, movement and reflection practices will be utilised through each of the goddesses as a framework for understanding the nature of consciousness and being as described in tantric traditions. Cost is £50, bookable through the British Wheel of Yoga.

Vajrasati 500+ YAP yoga teacher training
Vajrasati yoga teacher training is a fully comprehensive training course, carried out over two years, certified at the highest level by Yoga Alliance Professionals UK. Khadine co-runs the training with her partner Jim Tarran, the founder of Vajrasati yoga. The two year programme allows time to really integrate the teachings of yoga on all levels of being. The course covers: yoga asana, pranayama, meditation and mantra; teaching techniques; anatomy and physiology; yoga philosophy from all influencing traditions for full understanding and Sanskrit basics. You will also be joining a wonderful community (sangha) of like-minded teachers, who want to know yoga for themselves, not simply from a scripted style package of dogmatic instructions. You will be encouraged to utilise intuitive knowledge with the support of a cohort of heart-led practitioners. At the heart of Vajrasati is empowerment of each and every teacher (and student) and shared learning so we can all grow together. The course has two intakes every autumn in Brighton and Herne Hill. Please see the Vajrasati website for more information.
